Mount Kilimanjaro Day Hike through Marangu Gate

Mount Kilimanjaro is Tanzania's awe-inspiring icon, but you don't have to climb it to appreciate its full splendour and the enthralling countryside surrounding it. Leave lively, colourful Moshi early in the morning for the trip to Marangu Gate, the gateway to Mount Kilimanjaro. It's only an hour away, but the scenery will capture you - coffee and banana fields, past charming Marangu hamlet, with Kilimanjaro rising magnificently before you.

We'll register you at the Marangu Gate (we don't want you to go lost!) Your adventure will soon begin. The ridged route is first narrow as it winds through the rainforest. It's lush and gloomy, with moss adorning the trees. The canopy above is alive with songs and weird rustlings - might it be a colobus? Mongoose may scurry ahead of you. You'll also encounter fatigued hikers on their way down from the peak. Give them a thumbs up for their efforts.

The journey to Mandara Hut takes around three hours, so take a break and eat a wonderful lunch at the Hut before continuing to the short but strenuous walk to the Maundi Crater. The views to the east across Taveta and the northwest to Mawenzi Peak are spectacular on a clear day. Don't forget to bring your camera! After taking in the scenery, you'll climb back down to the Marangu Gate, where our van will be ready to take you back to Moshi, exhausted but delighted. Mount Kilimanjaro Day Hike through the forests to the Londorossi Gate

Kilimanjaro day hike: climb Mount Kilimanjaro with a one day hike. This hike has probably been on your bucketlist for a while now and if you don’t have the time or budget (or both) to climb it, then this is definately your best option. The day trip to Mt Kilimanjaro starts around 5 from Arusha (or even earlier to avoid traffic). Depending on the location of your ho(s)tel, the journey will take 1:30-2.30hours. From here you’ll depart with your guide after an early breakfast to start the drive to Kilimanjaro National Park and begin the Kilimanjaro day hike.

The kilimanjaro day hike begins on the western side of the mountain and goes up through the forests to the Londorossi Gate. Here, at an altitude of 2,100m, the hike begins. The ascent is over 1,000m, moving steadily up through tropical mountain forests, home to a variety of animals and birdlife. With the help of your guide, you may spot colobus monkeys, crested turacos and more. It is not uncommon to hear elephants rumbling through the forest; you may even catching sight of them through the trees.

The kilimanjaro day hike takes you up to the vast Shira Plateau, at 3600 m. A 500,000-year-old vulcanic caldera that is now a World Heritage Site. You can stop for lunch here, or continue on to Shira 1 Camp, Lion Gorge and the foothills of the Shira Pinnacles. Kilimanjaro’s iconic snow-covered table top, Kibo Peak, should be visible from here, as well as neighbouring glaciers. Book This Tour

Zanzibar Mnemba Island Full Day Tour

Don't feel sad if you're not a diver! A snorkeling trip to Mnemba Island will definitely satisfy all your wishes to experience a magical underwater world! Mnemba provides the snorkeler with the opportunity to view the best fish the Indian Ocean has to offer. A Marine Reserve, well known for its fish life like lionfish, moray eels, stingrays, and turtles swimming around in the shallows.

Venture further out the reef drops away into a big reef wall inhabited by schools of giant trevally and emperor fish hunting, yellow snappers, barracuda and if possible napoleon fish and turtles. The snorkeling trips are accompanied by an experienced guide who will help you find the fish, answer any questions you have about them and ensure you are safe and comfortable. What You Can Expect

You reach Mnemba Island by boat, mainly from Nungwi, which is a 1h30 drive from Stone Town. It takes about twenty minutes to reach the snorkeling spot from Nungwi. Mnemba Island is a privately owned island with access restricted to guests of the Luxurious &Beyond Mnemba Island. Tour guides will drop you off directly at the reef, which lies a few hundred yards from the small island. Full-day tours (approx. 9am to 4pm) generally include a single snorkeling stop at Mnemba, as well as a lunch break on a nearby beach and a chance to spot dolphins. You will have no trouble booking an excursion on the island. You enter the water from the boat: follow your guide’s instructions.

Mnemba Island is surrounded by an oval reef measuring several miles in diameter, and which is called by some (mistakenly) Mnemba Atoll. Most tour guides will drop you off in the area near the island, famous for its sea beds. The depth of the water is the same in all the reef areas (↕6-16ft/2-4m). You will find yourself above a reef of varying quality (some areas are wonderfully preserved, while others seem damaged by the area’s high visitor numbers). The reef is protected and fishing is forbidden, so the density of fish here is higher than in many other places in Zanzibar. In turn, you will come across shoals of dozens of Moorish idols, snappers, clownfish in their anemones and a host of other species. On the sea bed, look ours for blue starfish, Red-knobbed starfish or the fearsome crown-of-thorns starfish, a poisonous, coral-eating species. Green turtles can occasionally be seen at this spot since they go to the island’s beaches to lay their eggs at certain times of the year.

Access to Mnemba Island is strictly reserved to guests at the hotel. If you set foot on the beach, you run the risk of paying a large fine. In any case, the island coast guards will warn you if you go within 200 meters of the shore. This is the most popular snorkeling spot in Zanzibar and dozens of boats go there each day. Chagga Cave and Waterfalls

With your packed lunch and an enthusiastic guide, you can discover the caves and rock formations that many tourists never get to see. This one day trip can be combined with other activities like Blacksmith or waterfalls. At 800hrs ,We drive to Marangu Gate (1900m), the starting point for all Kilimanjaro treks via the Marangu Route. You will have the opportunity to take pictures of the mighty Kilimanjaro and get a sense of the spirit of the mountain. The area around Marangu is home to the local Chagga tribe and you will learn all about their history and traditions on this full day excursion.

Our second stop will be visit a small coffee farm, where you will learn about how the coffee is grown, harvested and processed locally. Try your own hand at processing, roasting and preparing a fresh cup of coffee. Once you have finished enjoying your coffee break, we will depart for the Ndoro Waterfalls.

Our hike to the base of the waterfall will lead us through lush green landscape and the descend takes approximately 1 hour. Here you have the opportunity to relax and take a refreshing bath in the pool of the waterfall. Another highlight will be the visit to the Chagga Underground Caves and the Chagga Live Museum. In times of drought the Maasai migrated up the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro, in search of food and water.

They enslaved and killed the local Chagga people. In defense of these attacks the Chagga built an extensive network of underground caves. Your guide will lively illustrate you the conflict while you visit the caves. We then continue to spend some time at the Chagga Live Museum, a small outdoor museum, which will give you further insides into traditional chagga life.

First you will visit the Materuni waterfalls, which are around a 40-minute walk away. On the way, your guide will inform you about the culture of the Chagga, village life and explain the surrounding fauna and flora. The views are truly breathtaking, and with some luck you will see the summit of Kilimanjaro. When you reach the waterfalls, you will see that they are more than 80 meters high. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is an inviting place for a refreshing swim so don ‘t forgets your swimwear!

After having enjoyed the scenery, you slowly return with your guide to Mama Agness Home, where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch. You also will have the opportunity to taste our local banana beer – definitely not to be missed!

The Tarangire River has water all year round and during the dry season, between July and October, many animals from the surrounding areas come to the river to quench their thirst.

If you visit the park during the dry season, you will witness an unforgettable natural wonder as you can observe wonderful creatures such as lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, and zebras as well as various types of antelopes and gazelles and with a little luck, you can also spot a python! This area is during the dry season also a haven for bird watchers with over 550 different species including the Masai Ostrich – the world’s largest bird. Lake Manyara National Park

Immerse yourself in Tanzania’s picturesque scenery on a full-day tour from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park. Traverse the Great Rift Valley, through the market town of Mto Wa Mbu, to reach the lake teeming with wildlife. Mount Meru Hiking Arusha Tanzania 1 Day Trip

A morning hike on the beautiful slopes of the incredible Mt Meru with an excursion into the crater before returning for a picnic at Kitoto View Point. This hike can be combined with an afternoon game drive to Arusha National Park before returning home. Early in the morning, normally around 7am, you are collected from your hotel with a packed lunch and transferred to Arusha National Park. At Momella Gate we complete registration formalities and collect our Ranger before driving to the very end of the road to Kitoto View Point.

From here we trek for up to 4 hours through the Afromontane forest and into the crater before heading back to the car. Now you can take your time, overlooking the outstanding views and taking in the morning’s events.
